17th-19th September - Centre Parcs Weekend

Centre Parcs Senate Weekend

17th – 19th September 2010

Incorporating 2010 AGM

At Longleat Centre Parcs resort, in Wiltshire. During the weekend you will be able to chill out in a forest setting, walk, swim, use sauna and spa facilities. Various sporting activities (squash, tennis etc) arts and crafts courses, or beauty salon session (extra charge) some of these activities are free, some a nominal charge, spa treatments (floatation tank, massage, aromatherapy etc) are normal high street prices More information can be found at www.centreparcs.co.uk but nearer the time we will be issued with information as to what is on that weekend and we can book some things in advance Included in price;

Shared accommodation in chalet style accommodation with shared kitchen and bathrooms and double or twin rooms

Saturday: The AGM at a local hostelry with a Black Tie Dinner afterwards – thus allowing anyone who cannot make the whole weekend to join us for the AGM and/or dinner

Friday Evening Either eating at one of the many restaurants on camp or a BBQ near the chalets

Sunday farewell lunch/evening meal again either in the restaurants or a buffet style or BBQ event

Cost;

Accommodation for three nights (sharing a chalet) including continental breakfast is just £100 pp, Saturday night dinner £50 pp including drink at AGM. Friday night and Sunday lunch/early evening meals are £20 pp each.

So 3 nights and all food, swimming and some sporting activities and Senate company for £190

In order to keep this price we will be providing tea and coffee throughout the weekend and soft drinks, but in order to cater for those senators who take it as a personal challenge to drink any bar dry we would have to charge much more.!!!!!!!!!! To make it fair we have decided to ask everyone to bring what they would like to drink and we will provide some wine and beer as a back up when we know numbers

BOOKING

For those of you who know centre parcs you will be aware of this, for others I need to point out, that this venue is situated in a forest setting and the lodges and chalets are arranged in groups of 3 or 5 to an area. We therefore need to know how many we are booking for in order to get an area with the correct amount of accommodation.

If you book after we have made the group booking you could be in a chalet which looks close on the map, but in fact is on the other side of a lake or gully which means you would have a long way to come to the evening and breakfast events. Also lodges must be booked as 8 person 6 person or 4 persons so if you book late you would have to get a group together OR pay for a full lodge with fewer people. This does give us a certain challenge when compared with hotel accommodation as there will be no ‘late bookings’ (unless to fill a place when someone has had to drop out due to unforeseen circumstances) and we need a commitment quite a way in advance in order to book the chalets we require

Once on the camp there are no cars allowed. You travel by foot, or bike (yours or hired) or on little train during set times, which means we need to be close together to communication and eat together. So please let Julie Blakey know if you would like to come on julie59106@yahoo.com or 0118 966 5081 We would ask for £100 when we book the chalets (prob December /January) and the rest by August – I need no money now, just a commitment in good faith so that we can plan how many chalets we need.

Ideally I would try to get a whole area, so that we don’t disturb anyone else or they don’t disturb us Its a lovely setting and can be fun packed busy weekend or a nice relaxed chilled weekend – its your choice and there will be plenty of us doing both. Please call me if you have any questions or worries, or to book.
