7th-9th September - cambridge Weekend

Cambridge Weekend

7 – 9 September 2012

Including the AGM

The Cambridge team are progressing well with the arrangements for a fabulous weekend in Cambridge which will include:

v  For those able to arrive on Friday, an opportunity to travel along Britain’s longest Guided Busway!  From Cambridge to St.Ives the busway provides a speedy alternative to the A14 with views across fen land countryside and the RSPB lakes.

v  On Saturday, a Blue Badge Guided Tour of the City to include highlighting some of the best architectural buildings Cambridge has to offer and to visit some of the most spectacular and oldest Colleges.  A trip to King’s College Chapel for those that would like to see could also be arranged for later in the day.

v  A free afternoon to visit a long list of places of interest:

The Fitzwilliam Museum, The Folk Museum, an Open Top Bus Tour, Kettles Yard Art Gallery, Punting on the Cam, The Grand Arcade Shopping Centre.........just so many to choose!

v  On Saturday evening we will have dinner in the dining hall of one of Cambridge’s Oldest Colleges.  A chance to sample ‘fine dining’ in an exquisite setting.

v  For lunch on Sunday you will be hosted by Senator Colin Chrebelski and his wife Tricia at their home in Impington.  Hopefully enjoying fine weather we can sit in the garden, catch up and relax before heading home.

What you have to do now..........

Hotels in Cambridge are booked months in advance and September is still a busy time for tourists.  We have secured rooms at the privately owned Arundel House Hotel, right in the centre of the City, overlooking Jesus Green and the River Cam.  They have agreed a rate of £135 per room, per night (double) or £95 per room, per night (single) www.arundelhousehotels.co.uk/cambridge

but only until 30 April 2012.  After this date the rooms will be released and there is no guarantee the price will be held.

For those who wish to seek a slightly cheaper alternative, there are a number of small hotels and guesthouses on Chesterton Road which are further away from the Centre but on the same road as The Arundel House.  You can see these at www.visitcambrigdge.org

Booking forms will be available shortly but if you are at all interested in joining us in Cambridge for what is going to be a fabulous weekend please let us have your contact details (over leaf) so we can get a booking form to you as soon as we can.
