JCI British Senate - working to support JCI UK

The British Senate sponsors awards to encourage JCI UK members to get involved in their organisation. Individual Senators can assist with mentoring & training and use www.easyfundraising.org.uk to raise funds.

Senate Award

The British Senate Trophy for the Most Outstanding Member is made to any full member, not a candidate member, of less than 2 years standing at 31 December of the awards year.

It recognises the most outstanding contribution within JCI UK by a new member towards the development of themselves, their Chamber or JCI UK.

The Trophy awarded by JCI UK and is presented with a cheque from the Senate for £200 towards the registration fee of an international conference. In 2006 a Certificate of Merit was awarded with £100.

Senate Bursary

The JCI British Senate awards up to six bursaries of £100 each a year to encourage new JCIUK members to get involved outside their chamber and region in training and social activities in Europe. This is to encourage long term active membership of JCI and for the members to be ambassadors for JCI membership.

The guidelines include that the award is made within the first 6 months of membership and used within 9 months, is made to a member who gets actively involved, who would likely take a chamber leadership role in the future and would benefit from the experience of an international event

Bursaries may be awarded throughout the year and will be spread equitably around the country. Recipients should be proposed by their Regional Group chair and decided on by National Board.
